To ensure a supportive environment for SMEs across Oman, the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (ASMED) is preparing a new strategy for the SME sector. It will align with the Oman Vision 2040 and offer a supportive environment to SMEs by implementing mechanisms and programs for strengthening the integration of all the entities connected with entrepreneurship. The new strategy will boost the contribution of SMEs to Oman’s GDP while implementing various initiatives to create job opportunities in the country. Meanwhile, SMEs registered with ASMED at the end of May 2022 surged by 46.9% to reach 78,089 from 53,166 SMEs in May 2021.
