Athens-based Hellenic Development Bank (HDB) is creating a single online platform that will act as a remote customer onboarding system where SMEs operating anywhere in Greece can apply for loans and funding from various banks and credit institutions. Once this online platform becomes operational, Greek SMEs will not have to visit each commercial bank separately and submit multiple loan applications to avail funding from those banks. This process will make it easier for SMEs across Greece to access credit and boost competition between banks to fund credible customers and expand their credit base.
