In India, the state government of Tamil Nadu has on July 28 instituted a 12-member expert committee to formulate schemes for the revival of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Led by a retired Indian Administrative Service officer and former Industries Secretary, Dr N Sunderadevan, this committee will consist of industrialists, banking and financial experts as well as government officials as its members. It will study the various challenges being faced by the MSME sector in Tamil Nadu and recommend immediate, medium-term, and long-term measures needed for the revival of the concerned sector.
