The Federal Government of Nigeria wants the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector to increase its contribution to the country’s Gross Domestic Product from the current 49% to 70% by the close of 2025, according to Dikko Radda, Director-General, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria.
Disclosing this, Radda said there are currently 41 million MSMEs across the country, and they are instrumental for over 59 million jobs in Nigeria. One of the new MSME policy goals will be to create an enabling environment for these 41 million MSMEs to grow and generate a minimum of one extra employment, he added.
