The Pakistan government is expected to announce a new policy for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on November 11, which will be launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The policy has been prepared by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) in consultation with the stakeholders.
Disclosing this, SMEDA’s Chief Executive Officer Hashim Raza said the regulatory regime is being eased under the upcoming policy, and a separate section to support women entrepreneurs has been incorporated in it. Furthermore, government departments will have to give approvals to the SMEs in 30 days mandatorily, Raza added.
