The Bangladesh government has released from its stimulus package another Tk 2.0 billion for the SME Foundation for disbursement among more entrepreneurs under the cottage, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (CMSME) sector. The Foundation had successfully disbursed Tk 1.0 billion in the last fiscal year (2020-21) among Covid-hit entrepreneurs, and it will start disbursing the newly allocated Tk2.0 billion very soon.
The SME Foundation is an apex institution set up by the country’s government for the development of CMSMEs in Bangladesh. It also offers diversified support to the existing and potential women entrepreneurs to bring them into the mainstream business community.
