Social media and messaging platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp are accelerating the growth of SMEs and the opportunities available to them across Africa. This has been revealed by a new study exploring the adoption and use of social media and messaging platforms by SMEs in eight African countries.
Genesis Analytics conducted the above study in Kenya, Nigeria, Mauritius, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Ghana, and DR Congo. Surveyed SMEs have reported that the Apps are most helpful in lowering barriers to entry, accessing markets, raising brand awareness, connecting with customers, increasing revenues, and reducing costs.
