Sri Lanka’s Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa recently received a comprehensive report elaborating on how the MSME sector can contribute meaningfully towards reviving his nation’s economy in the post-Covid era. The publication titled ‘Connecting Micro & SME Sectors to Contribute towards Economic Prosperity: In a Digital Savvy, Post-Covid-19 Sri Lanka’ was prepared and handed over to Sri Lanka’s Finance Minister by a small workgroup from the Pathfinder Foundation and Visa. The said report also examines the current status of the ‘start-up’ ecosystem in Sri Lanka, specifically the Fin-Tec and Agri-Tec players, and the opportunities for this sector.
