The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed between India and the UAE on 18 February 2022 will be highly beneficial for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), traders, startups, and others. Revealing this at a press conference, India’s Union Minister of Commerce Piyush Goyal reiterated that MSMEs, startups, farmers and traders, and all sections of businesses would gain hugely with the opening up of new markets. Furthermore, significant opportunities await the skilled workforce. The minister added that India is planning to conclude similar trade agreements with the other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries during the current year itself.
