Lately, Angel investors have been playing an increasingly important role in funding new small businesses in Michigan state in the Great Lakes region of the upper Midwestern United States. That is because most small businesses and startups are ineligible for bank financing as they have no assets. Two of the most successful Angel investing groups in Michigan are Northern Michigan Angels and Boomerang Catapult. While Northern Michigan Angels just turned 10 years old and seeks investment opportunities throughout the state of Michigan, Boomerang Catapult was created five years ago with a very focused goal of funding startups that help build and strengthen Traverse City’s economy.
