Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) wants to push the contribution of MSMEs to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 70% from the current 49% before the revised National Policy on MSMEs expires in 2025. Revealing this, SMEDAN’s Acting Director-General Olawale Fasanya said the revised Policy is an improvement on the previous editions as it contains clear recommendations of what the various actors and enablers must do to ensure that Nigeria’s MSMEs become globally competitive. The minimum target to be achieved by 2025 is to create an enabling environment for each of the MSMEs to grow, he added.
