To make it easier for the MSMEs in Nepal to obtain loans from banks and other financial institutions, Nepal Rastriya Bank, the country’s central bank, has decided to deploy Psychometric Scoring Solutions. They will generate credit scores based on the personality and behavior of the concerned small business owners and prospective borrowers and enable the lender to evaluate the psychological characteristics to know whether the prospective borrowers are ready and capable of repaying the loans they have received. Nepal has thus become the first country in South Asia to deploy this novel and ground-breaking concept to evaluate the repayment capacity of prospective borrowers.
