Though inflation in India is at an all-time high, the performance of MSMEs is steadily improving, and a majority are optimistic about their business growth. Revealing this, Khatabook’s Mid-Year MSME Business Sentiment Survey stated that 71% of the 7,295 MSME respondents were confident about business growth in the last two quarters of 2022. This is based on actual improvement in business performance in the first six months of 2022. Manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and wholesalers in states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Maharashtra have shown the fastest growth. Sectors like restaurants, salons, industrial services, home furnishings, pharmaceuticals, and stationery struggling in 2021, are surging ahead this fiscal.
