The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has fervently appealed to the federal government to initiate concrete steps to boost exports by supporting SMEs and developing the IT sector. At a meeting held with the senior executives of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority and Punjab Small Industries Corporation, Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi, Regional Chairman of FPCCI, said that the promotion of SMEs will enable to reduce the massive gap that currently exists between imports and exports. Meanwhile, he added that non-traditional products would have to be developed, and new markets would have to be discovered to increase exports.
