The Indonesian government’s Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs as well as the Cooperatives and SMEs Ministry, have offered three main recommendations that need to be given due consideration while formulating the policies on SMEs. In the post-pandemic era, it is essential to extensively support financial access programs, digitalization and women’s involvement to revive MSMEs. Besides enabling digitization, these three recommendations will also ensure data and cybersecurity and facilitate the development of SMEs in the medium and long term. After the pandemic, they will also open up avenues for innovation, market access, and sales and marketing.
