British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has urged the UK government to throw a lifeline to the struggling SME exporters striving to keep their heads above water. Revealing that UK SME exporters are reporting falling export sales as the global economy heads into another challenging year, a press release issued by the BCC said that the UK government could not afford to sit idly by as SME exporters battered by the pandemic, Brexit, and energy price shocks head into uncertain trading conditions. Currently, the biggest cost pressures for SME exporters are energy (72%), labor (67%), and raw materials (61%), the press release added.
