Credit Guarantee Corp Malaysia (CGC) plans to provide guarantees totaling RM5 billion for SMEs during the current year. Meanwhile, CGC has already issued RM2.3 billion guarantees in the first half of the year. The credit guarantee agency had provided RM 13.2 billion guarantees in total between April 2020 to June 2022 for SMEs. Out of this, RM6.1 billion of the guarantees were for the Special Relief Facility (SRF) and the Target Relief and Recovery Facility (TRRF), while RM5.6 billion were for the Portfolio Guarantee/Wholesale Guarantee schemes. The main beneficiaries during the current year are likely to be SMEs in the retail sector.
