Outstanding payments totalling Rs 1,650 billion owed to Indian MSMEs by the country’s ministries, government departments, and central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) have been cleared by them between May 2020 to December 5, 2022. Furthermore, the number of Micro and Small Enterprise Facilitation Councils (MSEFCs) in states and union territories (UTs) set up by the respective local governments has increased from 79 in FY20 to 113 in the current financial year. Disclosing this, Minister of State for MSMEs Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma said that MSMEs can file applications with these councils to receive their delayed payments.
