The Chemicals and Fertilisers Ministry of the Government of India rolled out three schemes on July 21 to bolster the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the pharmaceutical sector across the country. While one of these schemes envisages technology upgradation of the pharma MSMEs, the other two aim to set up common research centers and effluent treatment plants in clusters for the pharma MSMEs. The concerned MSMEs are expected to immensely benefit from these schemes as they can upgrade their manufacturing facilities to global standards. Furthermore, the three schemes will enable the Indian pharmaceutical industry to become more robust, self-reliant, and future-ready.
