Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia are currently finding it difficult to cater to the increasing demand and orders for their products and services resulting from the post-pandemic rebound in both the domestic and international markets. It is mainly because these SMEs are presently battling various constraints such as difficulty in getting loans, labor shortages, surging raw material costs, rising wages, higher interest rates, and supply chain disruptions. Some SMEs have even rejected orders to avert losses that may be inflicted for failing to deliver. It is also feared that many SMEs may have to postpone their expansion plans envisaged for 2022.
