Small businesses situated in the rural areas of the United States find it challenging to find and recruit quality workers and access capital and high-speed internet. Revealing this, a new survey conducted by SCORE, mentors to American small businesses, said that 19.2% of rural entrepreneurs are currently struggling to access broadband and high-speed internet, which makes it tough to conduct business, reach customers and grow. The corresponding figure for non-rural areas is 9%. Small business owners in rural areas are also finding it challenging to attract and recruit qualified and experienced employees as well as to access loans and funding.
